It's still, Alice in Wonderland, in which the protagonist of Carroll's story is depicted as a girl who jumps rope while roses bloom from her hands and hair, a symbol of beauty; L'triumph elephant, a fantastic image in which Dalí subverts the idea that the elephant is heavy and robust, giving it threadlike legs that resemble stilts and crutches, recurring symbols in his works. On the pachyderm's back, an angel announces hope for the future with trumpet blasts.

Painter, sculptor, filmmaker and designer, Dalí explored all fields of art with his spontaneous and rebellious approach and unconventional style that made him unique and recognizable. He conceived of the subconscious as a means to unlock the imagination and reach the most intimate aspects of the human soul. His audacity and sometimes outrageous ideas made Dalí a true icon in the world.

The exhibition, with the patronage of the Municipality of Bari, was created in collaboration with the Dalí Universe, a company that manages the largest private collection of Dalí artwork in the world.

DALÍ UNIVERSE

The organization is headed by Beniamino Levi, an Italian art dealer and collector who worked with Dalí in the 1960s. Beniamino Levi was fascinated by Dalí's ability to use different mediums to express his art and dedicated his whole life to collecting his works, focusing on three-dimensional creations.

The current Dalí Universe collection is in fact the result of years of dedication and commitment on the part of Levi, who began collecting the artist's works when he opened the Levi Gallery in Milan in 1955. Beniamino Levi is not only an expert on Salvador Dalí and Modern Art recognized worldwide, he was there when it all happened.
